microViscoStar™ Differential in-line Viscometer for UHPLC

Description

When coupled with UHPLC (or UPLC) size-exclusion chromatography and a compatible concentration detector such as the microOptilabTM, the microViscoStar™ derives the intrinsic viscosity (IV) of polymers, rapidly and with minimal sample and solvent consumption as well as low band broadening thanks to fast pressure transducers. The detector uses automated capillary bridge tuning with no moving parts, to guarantee a perfectly balanced bridge resulting in optimal thermal stability with minimal drift. An inherently valuable physico-chemical property in itself, IV is best utilized together with molar mass information from a microDAWNT™ multi-angle light scattering (SEC-MALS-IV) to derive the hydrodynamic radius, conformation, and branching ratio of a macromolecule in solution.

Key Features:
  • Sensitivity equivalent to 5 ng of 100 kDa polystyrene in THF at 1.0 mL/min injected onto a standard GPC column
  • Dynamic range of over 135,000:1, corresponds to over 13 mg/mL of 100 kDa polystyrene in THF
  • Temperature control from 4°C to 70°C
  • Patented pump compensation technology
